2024 Australian Good Design Awards

2024 Australian Good Design Awards

Friday night’s 2024 Australian Good Design Awards at the ICC Grand Ballroom was a fun celebration of all things design. There might’ve been some afterparty fun too 😄

I was lucky to be there to cheer on a bunch of friends and collaborators who won awards and hang out with my good mate Ben Crothers who’s one of the judges and presented the awards for the digital design categories.

Awesome to catch up with a bunch of friends who won awards including…

Congrats to all of this year’s winners!

What is design? The Good Design Awards currently has 12 overarching design disciplines and 30 design and innovation categories across architecture, comms design, design research, design strategy, digital design, engineering, fashion, policy design, product design, service design, and social impact.

As an endlessly curious designer, I have fun working across most of these design disciplines.

The theme this year was The Design Effect – “showcasing the ripple effects that exceptional design can have on individuals, communities, and the world. Pushing boundaries, co-designing closely, challenging conventions, and harnessing the power of imagination to positively transform the ways we live, work, interact, strategise, and lead”.

A massive congrats to Rachel Wye, Brandon Gien, Steve Baty, all of the judges, and the whole team on another awesome year of the Good Design Awards!

At our Sydney Design Thinking meetup on 6 November, we’re lucky to have Ben Crothers and Rachel Zhang sharing their highlights from this year’s awards. Our annual SydDT state of the design nation tradition since 2018… full of interesting observations, insights, and trends.

This is SydDT #106 and this year we’re doing it as part of our design megameetup series as Design Connection #3 with our friends from the EUX and CCX meetups… brought to you by Macquarie GroupSh8peshifters, and Dynamic4.
