Happy International Day of Education 2025!

International Day of Education

Happy International Day of Education! The theme this year is “AI and education: preserving human agency in a world of automation”.

It calls for us to reflect on the power of education to equip people and communities to navigate, understand, and influence tech advancement.

SDG4: Quality Education & Lifelong Learning is one of the key SDGs we focus on at Dynamic4. Helping people learn through doing has been core to what we do since I founded Dynamic4 in 2001… and to what I’ve been doing since my early teens.

In my early teens I started training others in the bodybuilding and mindbody techniques I’d been practicing, then snowboarding… before working professionally as a personal trainer specialising in Pilates and spin in the early 2000s. Dynamic4 Fitness was a key part of the business. Wellbeing has always been core to what we do – and still is.

This was in parallel to starting in banking in 1993 at the age of 17. Within 18 months I’d accidentally found my way into tech and what would now be called an innovation lab for transactional banking. We looked after the operations for the products we designed and built too.

For the past 30+ years I’ve taken a human-centred design and living systems approach to bring together strategy, design, and tech. From the late 90s, designing and delivering leadership, design, and innovation programs based on learning through doing with coaching became a core part of what I did too.

The coaching and learning programs I design and deliver are based on my 30+ years of real-world experience leading, designing, and delivering strategic change in financial services. digital & tech, health & fitness, and founding startups/social enterprises – in Australia, NZ, Asia, the UK, and Europe. Not just theory.

All of this makes this year’s theme one that’s very close to my heart. I love tech but I’ve never been into tech for the sake of it. It’s always been about the people.

I’m focused on regenerative leadership, design, and innovation with a focus on purpose and wellbeing. The ambition that underpins this is to help accelerate the transition to more regenerative ways of living and doing business.

A few years ago, I wrote Solve Problems That Matter to share some of what I’ve learnt. A simple and practical playbook with worksheets to help founders and leaders design, build, and launch business models, products, and services that are more regenerative and create great outcomes for people and our planet, while making money and increasing wellbeing.

This is just a small piece of my lifelong learning journey. These years have been full of learning, failing, iterating, and adapting. And still are. I continue to prioritise exploring my curiosity and learning every day.

Let’s Collaborate

At Dynamic4, we specialise in leadership, design, and innovation with a focus on purpose and wellbeing. We do that by working alongside leaders and their teams to navigate complexity and solve problems that matter.

We love helping our clients design, build, and launch ideas that customers and teams love, make money, and do great things for people and our planet while increasing wellbeing. My book Solve Problems That Matter is a good way to get started.

What do we actually do? Key ways we help is through coaching and advice, workshops, innovation sprints, and designing and delivering leadership, design thinking & innovation programs. Our approach builds personal, team, and organisational capability to solve problems that matter with more:

  • 🌿 Confidence to navigate complexity and solve problems that matter for your teams, customers, shareholders – and build momentum with more certainty and less risk while increasing your wellbeing
  • ❤️ Clarity to empathically engage your stakeholders, make better decisions, and collaborate to create solutions that your teams and customers love, make money, and do great things for people and our planet
  • 🎯 Purpose that drives progress on your goals and creates meaningful value that you’re proud of for all stakeholders – and build the relationships, workflows, rhythms, and habits for success
