How are you adapting to meet the rapidly shifting expectations of your teams, customers, investors, and regulators?
Leadership is getting more challenging with rapid change and increasing expectations creating more pressure and scrutiny.
86% of leaders reported increased expectations from their teams, customers, shareholders, regulators, and other stakeholders. *
There are three key challenges I consistently hear:
1. Navigating complexity with increasing ambiguity and uncertainty
Leadership… especially leading, designing, and delivering change has always been full of complexity and uncertainty, but the risk has dramatically increased – and now you have to work it out with more people watching.
2. Feeling exposed and vulnerable to criticism because diverse stakeholders are demanding more
Talent and customers expect to be directly engaged and listened to, and shareholders and regulators want you to reduce risk by doing the right thing by people and our planet.
3. Finding meaning and recognition in demanding roles
You want your work to have purpose, be rewarding, and to really matter. But sometimes you feel like you’re not having the influence you should, and aren’t being recognised, valued, and making the progress you want.
For many leaders, this leaves them constantly feeling like they’re going to get caught out and exposed.
They fear they’ll be stuck in this loop, trying to dodge burnout, and feeling like they don’t have the options that lead to more flexibility, earning more, and having a comfortable lifestyle for themselves and the people they love.
Does that resonate with you? What’s your experience?
* This stat is from the research I’m doing with leaders. I’m learning more about what you care about, and what you’re aiming for. What you feel good about. The challenges you’re facing. And the longer-term trends at play.
I’ll present the findings from my research in a report. It might even evolve into my next book. Join the waitlist for the report now to be the first to get it. You can get involved too!
There’s been a great response since I started in April… a huge thanks to the more than 80 people who’ve already shared their experience and insights.
