SydDT #84: Design Megameetup – UX Australia 2023

SydDT #84: Design Megameetup - UX Australia 2023

Thursday, 10 August 2023 was SydDT #84… another Design Megameetup with our friends at IxDA Sydney, EUXSyd, and CCX in the lead up to UX Australia. A sold out event with a few people watching online. Awesome to catch up with loads of friends old and new.

We were lucky to have four great speakers do a 10-minute lightning talk with the key messages of their UXA talk/workshop:

Thanks to everyone who came and made it a fun night! Couldn’t make it or just want to relive it? Watch it now.

A huge thanks to Pretzel Lab for hosting and to Lanson Partners for sponsoring the pizza. Also a massive thanks to everyone who put in the work in the background to make this happen… we’re teams of volunteers from the four meetups who are committed to bringing together the thriving Sydney design ecosystem.

I’ll be doing a talk at UXA next week too. My topic is Regenerative Design & Innovation… for Happier Communities. UXA in-person tickets are sold out but you can still buy a virtual pass! See you there.

SydDT #85 is on Thursday, 14 September and part of Thoughtworks YConf and the theme is By Design: Great Teams Deliver Great Products. Come and hear three product leaders share their insights and experiences building and nurturing successful product and design teams. We’re lucky to have Lucy Chen (Head of Product Design at Safewill), Gaston Guernik (Global Head of UI/UX & Design System at QBE Insurance), and Herry Wiputra (Chief Product Officer at hipages Group)… hosted by Kate Linton (Head of Design at Thoughtworks). See you there! Link to tickets in the comments.
