SydDT #95: IWD Count Her In: Invest in Women. Accelerate Progress

Thursday, 7 March 2024 @ 6pm. ThinkPlace, Sydney

On the eve of this year’s International Women’s Day, at the Sydney Design Thinking meetup we’ll be exploring the UN theme Count Her In: Invest in Women. Accelerate Progress. We’ll discuss the role of design in helping increase economic inclusion for women across employment pathways and improving financial literacy.

Kylie Mageropoulos has lined up an awesome panel with Esse Spadavecchia, Angela Mayer, Sarah Heimeier, and Emmanuelle Delannoy… four women who’ve led the way in this space and tackled some of these critical gaps through their design work and leadership in financial services. Grab your ticket before it sells out!

I’m gutted to be missing this one but I’ll be having fun in Adelaide at _SOUTHSTART.

Emmanuelle Delannoy

Emmanuelle’s 25+ year career has focused on the intersection of strategy, business transformation, and design. A passionate leader and practitioner of human-centred design and innovation techniques, she’s worked across financial services, biotech/pharma, and high tech Fortune 100s – developing insights-driven solutions to help organisations transform.

After working as a strategy consultant on the east and west coasts of the US, she cut her teeth in design as an entrepreneur in Silicon Valley. She spent the last 14 years at Macquarie Group, first in strategy and most recently as Global Head of Client Experience for the asset management business, where she focused on incorporating human-centred design into problem-solving, to deliver fit-for-purpose outcomes.
Emmanuelle is proud to serve on the board of the National Centre For Childhood Grief, a non-profit delivering specialist care to bereaved children and their families.

Sarah Heimeier

Sarah is an award-winning service design leader with over a decade of industry experience. She’s led major transformation projects for some of Australia’s largest financial institutions and leading fintechs, has spoken at UX Australia, and won three Good Design Awards.

Sarah is passionate about the interplay of strategy, research, and service design and is at the forefront of the latest design methods. She coaches designers and shares her expertise in talks and workshops. She’s Service Design Lead at Prospa, designing and delivering the company’s vision. Sarah has an Honours in Industrial Design and has completed the altMBA. With a love of learning, she’s always looking for new things to pursue, such as improvisation, standup comedy, and watercolour painting.

This commitment is manifested through Esse’s engagements in public speaking, seminars, podcast creation, coaching, and as a panel judge for initiatives like the Women in Digital annual awards.

Esse’s dedication to advancing experience design has not only earned accolades but also propelled innovative solutions that resonate with users across various platforms.

Angela Meyer
