Lead Change That Matters

Loving the challenge…
but feeling the squeeze?
Leading, designing, and delivering change can bring real achievement and joy. But you’re also expected to juggle more as the work becomes faster, more complex, and more scrutinised.
The conditions around you haven’t kept pace with what’s being demanded.
Join me at the launch
The first launch event will be at the Sydney Design Thinking (SydDT) meetup.

What’s a change you’d love to build momentum on?
Bring it along. Whether you’re leading a team, designing a better experience, or helping an organisation move towards something that matters… we’ll have plenty to explore together.
I’ll share some of what I’ve learnt, then we’ll explore the five elements of the Conditions for Momentum through conversations about our own work.
We’ll use the cards to open up those conversations and help you choose your own journey through the evening… and beyond. You’ll take your own complete set of cards home to keep exploring – on your own and with your team.
Come along! Bring a colleague or friend and join us for some fun conversations.

What people are saying
Ben has spent decades leading change in complex organisations while working alongside founders and leaders who are trying to make a meaningful difference. He understands that lasting progress depends on people, purpose and performance, and brings the practical experience and care to help others lead it.

Founder and CEO, Impact Boom
Ben worked with me to restructure our Digital Fundraising team at Cerebral Palsy Alliance, helping me create the right environment for people, technology and AI to work together and amplify what we can achieve for our mission. He also coached me through a significant period of change, always bringing warmth, clarity and practical structure. Lead Change That Matters will be incredibly valuable for leaders who want to drive meaningful change, and to bring purpose and performance together without leaving people behind.

Head of Digital Fundraising, Cerebral Palsy Alliance
Ben’s support helped me navigate some of my most challenging work because he combines practical change leadership with genuine humanity. Ben is one of the few people I’ve worked with who can engage a CEO and a frontline team with the same authenticity and care.

Manager, Innovation and Community, Proveda
In Lead Change That Matters, Ben has created a roadmap for leaders to build coalitions, generate multi-level value throughout your organisation, and create a worthy and lasting legacy once you pass on the baton to the next generation of leaders.

What’s the book about?
Change is what shifts around us. The transition is the ongoing human journey through it – moving ourselves, our teams, and our organisations from where we are to the future we want.
This book is about leading both.
It’s a short, insight-led book grounded in my research, wider evidence, and what I’ve learnt through 30+ years of practice.
At the heart of the book is a tension that ran through the research.
Leaders are expected to juggle more as the work becomes faster, more complex, and more scrutinised… but the conditions around them haven’t kept pace with what’s being demanded.
Who’s Lead Change That Matters for?
My aim with this book is to help the people who lead, design, and deliver change navigate complexity and transitions – and build momentum with more confidence, clarity, and purpose.
I’m focusing on the people leading and governing change at the strategic end – across organisations, teams, products, services, and experiences – and the goals, questions, and challenges they face.
- Leading change you’re accountable for but can’t really control
- Navigating complexity with increasing ambiguity and uncertainty
- Feeling exposed as your teams, customers, investors, and regulators all expect more
- Looking for meaning and recognition in a demanding role
- Caring for everyone’s wellbeing but dodging your own burnout
- Firefighting the tactical when you want to lead the strategic change that matters
Your goals
You care about more than delivering change.
You want to make a meaningful difference through the work – building your own capability, helping others grow, and strengthening the teams and organisations around you so progress can be sustained.
Lead Change That Matters will help you with these goals:
The Conditions for Momentum

I want this to be short enough to read quickly and digest, but deep enough to keep you coming back.
My first book, Solve Problems That Matter, finishes with a chapter called Sustain Momentum. This is really where my new book begins.

Ben Pecotich: a bit about me
For 30+ years, I’ve brought together strategy, design, and tech to lead, design, and deliver strategic change in complex, mission-critical environments in Australia, NZ, Asia, the UK, and Europe.
I’ve also worked alongside and coached thousands of leaders and founders to navigate these transitions.
I’ve been working in financial services since 1993 and I co-founded my first startup in 1994. I’ve co-founded 20+ startups and social enterprises across health and fitness, fintech, events, and community building.
I’m also the author of Solve Problems That Matter and the co-founder Sydney Design Thinking meetup (10,000+ members).
Dynamic4
I founded Dynamic4 in 2001. We work alongside leaders and their teams on complex challenges that bring together strategy, design, and tech.
We take a human-centred design and living systems approach to helping clients design, build, and launch ideas that customers and teams love, make money, and do great things for people and our planet while increasing wellbeing.
Our approach builds personal, team, and organisational capability. Practical and applied with a focus on strengths and what’s working – rather than dwelling on deficits.
My purpose & vision
I’m all about helping people deliver great results, have fun, and create their purpose and happiness – without the guilt.
My work focuses on accelerating the transition to more regenerative ways of living and doing business, creating the conditions for people and communities to be happier and live on a healthier planet.
To achieve this, we need leaders and organisations who solve problems that matter in more empathic, innovative, and regenerative ways – and measure success not just in profit, but equally in outcomes for people and our planet.
That’s the work I do… and the change that matters.
