Newsletter: I want you to be happy…

I want you to be happy… why?

Well, because I care.

But also because Shawn Achor’s happiness research found that when we’re in a positive headspace, we’re at least 30% better at what we do. Happiness is the centre and success revolves around it – not the other way around.

Today is the International Day of Happiness. It’s about recognising that progress is about increasing human happiness and wellbeing, not just growing the economy.

The theme this year is “caring and sharing”. It’s a reminder that lasting happiness comes from caring for each other – feeling connected and being part of something bigger. Belonging.

The campaign is simple. Share your happiness. Three steps…

  1. What’s something helped or inspired you recently? It might be an idea, quote, image, podcast, article, book, or place.
  2. Who’s someone you care about and might enjoy it too? Choose a friend, family member, colleague, neighbour, or someone you haven’t seen for a while
  3. Share it! Send them a message, give them a call, or any other way of connecting

An event and a couple of reflection blog posts for you…

SydDT #111/IxDA Byron Bay: Regenerative Leadership, Design & Innovation… for Happier Communities

I’m stoked to be visiting one of my favourite places in the world again 24-27 March. Even as a young kid I knew Byron and the Northern Rivers is a special place. Reply to this email if you’re around and keen to catch up!

At IxDA Byron Bay on I’ll be talking about regenerative leadership, design & innovation for happier communities – and how we put that into action. I’ll then host a panel with Jane Laverty, Dan Leverington, and Demi Barclay. Grab your ticket!

I’ll also be leading a Regenerative Leadership, Design & Innovation in Action workshop with some members of the Business NSW Northern Rivers Regional Leaders Network and members of the IxDA Byron Bay community.

Reflecting on SydDT #110: IWD Accelerate Action: Make AI Your Equity Partner with Kristin de la Fuente

We were lucky to have Kristin de la Fuente helping us celebrate International Women’s Day at SydDT #110. Kristin led an interactive session designed to empower designers, researchers, and AI practitioners to actively advance gender parity in technology.

She provided research and tools to help ensure AI-generated outputs for design are more ethical, inclusive, and free from gender bias. Check out the full write-up, photos, and video.

Reflecting on Climate Action Week Sydney 2025

10-16 March was Climate Action Week Sydney. An action packed week with 200+ events. Check out my reflections on the opening session.

Let’s Collaborate

At Dynamic4, we specialise in leadership, design, and innovation with a focus on purpose and wellbeing. We do that by working alongside leaders and their teams to navigate complexity and solve problems that matter.

We love helping our clients design, build, and launch ideas that customers and teams love, make money, and do great things for people and our planet while increasing wellbeing. My book Solve Problems That Matter is a good way to get started.

This draws on my 30+ years of bringing together strategy, design, and tech to lead, design, and deliver strategic change in financial services, digital & tech, health & fitness, and building startups/social enterprises.

What do we actually do? Key ways we help is through coaching and advice, workshops, innovation sprints, and designing and delivering leadership, design thinking & innovation programs.

Our approach builds personal, team, and organisational capability to solve problems that matter with more:

🌿 Confidence to navigate complexity and solve problems that matter for your teams, customers, shareholders – and build momentum with more certainty and less risk while increasing your wellbeing

❤️ Clarity to empathically engage your stakeholders, make better decisions, and collaborate to create solutions that your teams and customers love, make money, and do great things for people and our planet

🎯 Purpose that drives progress on your goals and creates meaningful value that you’re proud of for all stakeholders – and build the relationships, workflows, rhythms, and habits for success
